This items consists of a wide variety of sedimentary, igneous, and/or metamorphic rocks depending on your needs. This box is designed to provide teachers and scout leaders with a comprehensive set of rocks to demonstrate the major classes of rocks.
The exact stones in the collection vary from batch to batch depending on what I have on hand and what you want. If you don`t ask for a certain type of stones I will include walnut sized to softball sized stones from each of the major classes, and from the Moh`s hardness scale. A typical box may include: limestone, mudstones, shale, sandstone, aventurine, travertine, quartzite, lava, obsidian, apache tears, basalt, rhyolite, granite, petrified wood, fossils, chalcedony, geode agate nodule, schist, quartz, marble, and/or calcite.
