IwAr: Rocks for tumbling in rock tumbler
These are six pound lots of bulk rough rocks that are hand selected for polishing or tumbling in a rock tumbler, or for slabbing, or for cabbing, and should yield many fine gemstones when you have tumbled, polished, or cabbed the stones.

We have many boxes of this mix available, so bid on multiple boxes if you like.

May contain: agate, jasper, jade, chert, petrified wood, white or clear quartz, thunder eggs, geodes, quartzite, shard, amythest, flint, crystals, chalcedony, and other hard stones that I think will tumble and polish well. Whenever we see a piece of obsidian or common opal in the mix we remove it because they are so difficult for the average person to polish well. We strive to include a wide collection of many different kinds of rocks.

Much of this rock comes from rockhounding expeditions in Utah.

This stone has a hardness of about 7 on the Moh's hardness scale so it should tumble well together.

The photos are representative of the collection, you will not receive these exact rocks. The first photos are close ups of what one batch of this rock looked like, the last photo is six pounds worth of this mix, and is included to show the approximate size of the stones.

The mix is composed of bits and pieces that have accumulated during the last 52 years of work at a lapidary and rock shop. The stones average 1" to 2" in width. Some of the larger pieces may be suitable for making slabs with a trim saw for small cabochons, which would look great as a cab in jewelry. If you want larger stones for cabbing or slabbing please let us know when you send payment because we do have some lee-way in the size of rock we put in the box. Some of these rocks may be useful for metaphysical crystal healing or energy work.

Within the USA we ship by UPS because it is the most affordable way we have found to ship heavy boxes of stones. We typically ship within a week of receiving payment. Outside the USA we typically use USPS for shipping.

The rocks have been washed to remove dirt.
